Septic tank with pump

You can install a septic tank wherever you want. A house, building, business property, etc. The only thing you need to be able to install it is space.

To begin with, do you know what a septic tank is? It is an underground tank that people use for wastewater treatment. Most urban areas are connected to the main sewage networks, but when it comes to the rural ones, they don’t have centralized sewer systems, which leads to the need of having a septic tank in most properties in these areas.

How it works is simple. Septic tanks have two pipes; one drains the wastewater to the septic tank, which holds the water for enough time to allow solids to settle down to the bottom of the septic tank, and when it comes to the grease and oil; they will float as scum.

When the water is pretreated, it will exit the tank and go to the drain field, which is another essential part of a septic system. The pretreated wastewater, after being on the drain field, is going to be discharged through piping onto porous surfaces. That’s it. Now, what does a pump have to do in this system?

The topography of your land will play an important role while installing a septic tank. Why? Well, most of the time, septic tanks and the system itself are able to treat the wastewater without needing a pump, but when you have a raised percolation area, it is harder for the system to do its job. Everything is about gravity, if you follow that simple rule, you will be able to tell if you need a septic tank with a pump or not.
